Me, Myself, and I: How to have a relationship with me (MMI) is a concept that emphasizes the importance of developing a healthy relationship with oneself. It is often said that one cannot truly love others until they first love themselves, and this is the foundational belief behind MMI. As a therapist, and the creator of MMI, I have witnessed many individuals who struggle in their relationships with others because they have not developed a relationship with themselves.
This podcast focuses on building a healthy relationship with oneself by utilizing six keys: safety, trust, stability, acceptance, patience, and love.
As, the creator of MMI derives these six keys from a biblical foundation, specifically from the verse in Matthew 22:39 that states, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." This verse emphasizes the importance of loving oneself before loving others. MMI encourages individuals to build healthy relationships with themselves first so that they can then build healthy relationships with others.
It is essential to note that MMI is not a substitute for mental health services. Instead, it is a resource for individuals to utilize in conjunction with therapy or counseling. By developing a healthy relationship with oneself, individuals can increase their overall well-being and create a foundation for healthy relationships with others. The goal of MMI is to support individuals in building relationships that honor and cherish their unique qualities and specialness.
